One of the most unlikely “hits” added to my wardrobe last winter was a long, pleated snake print skirt. I used to think reptile print belonged only in the clubs of Vegas, but it’s grown tremendously on me (and is very on trend again this season) to the point that I might even prefer it to my first love, leopard print! My older skirt is long sold out, but since I always get inquiries about it, I’m partnering with Nordstrom to share a very similar option here that’s fully stocked!
This skirt features a waistband that’s half flat, half elasticized, which I’m a fan of for a smooth and polished look in the front but still with the comfort and stretch of elastic. Size XS measures 12.25″ across the waist and stretches to about 14″ across. The fabric has a slight satiny finish to it and is unlined with a chic leg slit. I re-styled my brown ribbed top from this blog post for a foliage-inspired color palette, but this skirt looks great simply with a fitted black or cream turtleneck, a black waist belt, and a cropped blazer or jacket!
My platform sandals are and old favorite, but this similar version by Vince Camuto caught my eye as an alternative. In person, the darker “seed brown suede” has a richness to it that still feels seasonally appropriate in the Fall, and the platform is just enough to elongate the legs without feeling clunky on a petite frame. The front strap felt on the narrow side so if you’re in between sizes, I’d go with half size up.
