Two time Super Bowl Champion Head Coach Jimmy Johnson is headed for enshrinement in Canton, Ohio.

Pro Football Hall of Fame President David Baker dropped by the set of Fox Sports to make the announcement during the Packers and Seahawks Halftime show where Johnson works as an analyst. The announcement comes a day after Baker made a stop at the CBS Sports set to inform Bill Cowher he too would be inducted as a member of the Centennial Class.

In 1989 Johnson became the second head coach in Cowboys history, replacing the legendary Tom Landry. Though they went 1-15 in Johnson’s first season, he was named the AP Coach of the Year in his second season after finishing 7-9. The Cowboys made the playoffs in 1991 and then won Super Bowl titles in back-to-back seasons in 1992 and 1993.

He left the Cowboys after his fifth season in 1994 and was hired by the Dolphins in 1996 where he coached for four seasons and took Miami to the playoffs in 1997, 1998, and 1999.

Johnson finished his coaching career with a 80-64 record including an impressive 7-1 postseason record during his tenure in Dallas. This August, Johnson will join his former players Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, Larry Allen, and Charles Haley, as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

Johnson and Cowher are the only two coaches in this year’s Hall of Fame Class after eight were considered as finalists. They will be joined by 18 other members in the 2020 Hall of Fame Class.
