We’ve been going on daily socially distanced walks, which for me means a pretty casual uniform of sneakers + knit dress, but it’s still fun to imagine alternatives for more dressed up days to come. I actually first ordered this ribbed midi dress from Nordstrom last fall. The regular size 2 (fits like a 0 with lots of stretch) was a little roomy on me, but I tried it on again recently and am filling it out better these days!
For my active toddler mama life, I’ve been loving these low woven espadrilles with a tiny wedge. They’re very comfortable and lightweight at the soles, and the platform adds just a bit of height without the risk of me losing my balance. Paired with a neutral crossbody bag, this look is practical and casual but still looks put together! There’s a very similar ankle-tie version of my shoes that’s currently 40% off, featuring the same lightweight soles.
For dressier events down the road, a simple swap with delicate sandals + clutch bag helps elevate the look. And for those super casual days, I’d wear this dress with leather sneakers, cap, and my trusty tote.
A few other items I own or tried on, currently on sale:
- The ever popular Natori stretch lace bra is 40% off in select neutral colors!
- Topshop black jeans avail. in petites (28 length suits ladies under 5′ tall), in ripped or non-ripped
- Madewell ribbed dress (pictured below; also in black) is my maternity wear pick. This is not designed for maternity, but per the reviews I read it ran a little big at the midsection. I gave it a try and it’s a nice quality, medium to thicker weight ribbed knit that’s quite stretchy with a petite-friendly length. I agree it runs big and is looser through the torso, so might actually work best on someone who’s expecting (size down if you aren’t!).

Thank you to Nordstrom for partnering on this post.
