Here I was on a Thursday, sipping on a morning cuppa, when *bing* another email landed in my inbox. Keyword here: landed.

Now we’ve been given the green light from A-town (Anatsacia Palaszczuk for those playing at home) to take off and explore our own backyard in the Sunshine State, we’re all about it. And it turns out, Jetstar is on board too.

Yeah, times are tough; we’re in a recession and JobKeeper is rife. But now is the time to book a seat and take off to new heights by heading north because flights throughout QLD have never been cheaper!

Book in your annual leave. Whip out your best Hawaiian vacay shirt. Borrow some money from your mum (or just miss out on avo toast one morning) and BOOM – you could be on your way to the Whitsundays living your best beachside life for only $39!

The aforementioned email that cruised into my inbox was from the star of jets with the ultimate flight deals. We’re talking Brisbane to Cairns for $69, Brisbane to Townsville for $79 and Brisbane to Mackay for just $35. If you’ve never been enticed to head north, what more do you need? I mean bloody ‘ell, even I’ll shout ya.

I’ve actually missed the funky smell of plane air-con, slow boarding and limited carry-on. The things I’d do to be questioned at an airport gate about extra luggage right now, you feel?

Now, before you go and rally the troops and ask Optus for a late payment extension, read the terms and conditions carefully. From one plane pal to another: you have to be CIA-style strategic to ensure you nail a cheap return flight too, as the sale dates can be tricky!

Look for mid-week flights to knab the actual advertised deal and watch out for the extras that can quickly make that $39 flight $109. Also, double check landing and take-off times so you’re not setting yourself up for failure to launch (out of bed).
