Not only does 2020 mark the 20th year of the award show, it also marks the 40th anniversary of Black Entertainment Television. So, to ensure this momentous occasion isn't overlooked, the BET Awards are occurring virtually. It's impossible to predict exactly what will happen — virtual award ceremonies are new territory.
